Pastel drawing of Nile houseboat

CHILDREN PLAYING ON THE NILE

Size: 40cms x 67cms (16x 26.5ins approx.)
Medium: Pastel
NOT FOR SALE

This pastel drawing depicts a typical collection of Nile craft in a makeshift boatyard on the west bank of the River Nile opposite the city of Luxor.

In the foreground is the hulk of a derelict barge which is used as a playground by local children who are oblivious to any dangers that lurk thereon or in! Behind this is a small dingy being manoeuvered by a child with a makeshift punt. Further back is moored a Nile water taxi awaiting repair and in the background a dahabiyah being converted into a modern luxurious houseboat/Nile cruiser.
